What is literacy?

Literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute, using printed and written materials. Literacy involves continuous learning that enables individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge and potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider society.

Small group instruction and distance learning options to help you develop basic digital skills. We can help you navigate you tablet, smartphone, laptop or personal computer.

Foundations for Learning

Anytime Online Courses offered through Norquest College. 30 Hours of FREE one on one tutoring by Beaver County CALP. Tutoring can be through in-person meetings, video chats, email, or phone whichever works for you! Tuition and Fees are payable to Norquest College.

Available Courses:

  • CAEC Preparation Foundations – Prepare for writing the CAEC Exam.
  • Pre-Trades Math and Science Preparation Foundations – Develop math and science skills needed to pass the apprenticeship exam.
  • Prep for Practical Nurse Foundations – Completes the math pre-requisite for entry into the Practical Nurse program at NorQuest.
  • High School Prep Math Foundations – Basic algebra skills required for High School math courses. Successful learners progress to Math 10C.
